Multibat – Modular Battery Mould Formwork System for Precast Concrete Beams, Columns & More
The Multibat formwork system is a manually movable solution designed for the efficient production of precast reinforced concrete beams. It is also ideal for manufacturing columns, lintels, and other custom concrete components, offering flexibility across a range of structural elements.
Robust Panel Construction for Exterior Use
Each battery mould is composed of mobile steel panels, available with 6 mm steel sheeting on one or both sides. For exterior applications, alternative panel coverings are available:
- 18 mm multiplex
- 5 mm stainless steel
These movable panels are positioned opposite a fixed panel, forming the mould cavity for casting.
Flexible Configuration Options
Customers can select between three setup configurations, depending on space, access, and production needs:
- Fixed centre panel
- Open fixed centre panel
- Fixed end panel
Advantages of the Open Centre Panel Configuration
- Variable heights: Use movable panels of different heights on either side of the centre panel.
- Efficient hand finishing: Access both sides from the centre working platform for easy manual touch-ups.
- Split workflow: Effectively divides the mould into two independent work zones, allowing parallel operations.
The fixed centre or fixed end panel option is preferred where space is limited, ensuring optimal use of available floor area.
Custom Sizes to Match Production Needs
The Multibat system offers a wide range of standard lengths and heights:
- Lengths: from 6 m to 16 m
- Heights: from 750 mm to 1500 mm (including base thickness)
Movable panels are mounted on double steel profiles available in 4 m, 6 m, or 8 m lengths. Two of these profile sets include flat steel guide rails, enabling smooth manual panel movement.
Built-in Mechanisms for Easy Handling
The panels are designed for manual operation and include:
- A built-in roll-lock-release mechanism
- Spindles at the bottom to secure the base
- Tie bars at the top for adjustable fastening in an alternating pattern
Additionally, the top of each panel includes an integrated timber profile, allowing for the easy fitting of triangular chamfers and similar formwork accessories.
