Electrically Adjustable Side-Pour Stair Mould for Fair-Faced Precast Stairs

The Sidecaster by Construx-Weckenmann is a precision-engineered, side-pour stair mould system designed for producing precast concrete stairs with fair-faced finishes on both top and bottom surfaces. Equipped with electrical and mechanical adjustment systems, the Sidecaster offers unmatched flexibility for casting stairs with or without landings, and supports a wide range of step configurations and geometries.

Advanced Side-Pour Mould Configuration

The Sidecaster is built in two main halves, mounted on a steel base frame, where a height adjustment system supports the customer-supplied timber soffit. The mould includes:

Front Side – Electrically Controlled Adjustments

  • Synchronized riser height adjustment
  • Synchronized tread (going) depth adjustment

This allows fast, consistent changes to stair geometry using electric controls for accurate and repeatable results.

Back Side – Manually Adjustable Panel

  • Full steel flat panel mounted on rollers
  • Can be adjusted transversely (700 mm opening) for:
    • Demoulding the finished stair
    • Reinforcement placement
    • Cleaning and oiling
  • Sideways movement for aligning the landing panel and opposite mould half
  • Movements controlled via mechanical chain drive and drive wheel

Landing Panel Adjustments

  • Both top and bottom landing panels are adjustable via high-precision synchronized spindles
  • The top landing panel is movable to accommodate different numbers of steps

Once positioned, all panels are secured using tie systems, both at the base and top of the stair mould.

Working Platforms & Access

  • Full steel working platforms on both sides
  • Access stairs at both ends for safe operation and accessibility
  • Height adjusters mounted on the base frame support custom-cut soffit boards

Key Benefits

  • Electrically adjustable risers and goings for fast geometry changes
  • Produces fair-faced stairs with landings, all in one mould
  • Transverse movement for easy demoulding, setup, and cleaning
  • Compatible with custom timber soffits and standard reinforcement practices
  • Ideal for medium- to high-volume precast stair production
