The spindle table from Construx-Weckenmann is a hybrid formwork system, combining features of a fixed casting table and a Multibat battery mould. This multipurpose solution offers exceptional flexibility and cost-efficiency, allowing producers to cast a variety of precast concrete elements—walls, lintels, beams, and columns—using a single system.
Modular Concept for Versatile Applications
The core concept of the spindle table is the integration of movable vertical panels onto a fixed steel casting table. The table is equipped with runners along its short sides, enabling the panels to roll horizontally on wheels mounted on their exterior.
Each panel features the Multibat spindle locking mechanism, allowing them to be:
- Rolled by hand
- Locked or released without tools
- Easily repositioned for flexible mould setups
Panel Details & Functionality
- The top edge of each panel includes a timber profile between steel plates for easy insertion of triangular chamfers.
- At the bottom, the panels are secured using spindles.
- At the top, they are held in place by tie-bars, which can be alternately tightened to maintain stability.
Casting Options
Walls and Lintels
These are cast directly onto the table surface, without using the movable panels. This setup allows quick, flat casting with no side constraints.
Beams and Columns
For structural elements, casting takes place between the movable panels. A plywood strip, cut to the desired base width, serves as both a spacer and casting base.
This dual-mode approach makes the spindle table a smart investment for precast plants needing adaptable mould setups with minimal space requirements.
